I just seen the Director's Cut !

(Thank you, Festival of American Film of Deauville)

Sorry I've missed the first 20 minutes but I didn't miss anyway the most of the modifications of the film.

This Director's Cut SMASHES totally the old one.

The 1970 movie has been really, simply changed into a 2004 movie, but it's always the same.

The technical quality of the new shots is incredible. I'd regret only one change: the chase. Now before travelling a tunnel and after SRT's death, THX is engaged on a speedway across the city: these scene is badly realized. But all the rest is excellent. The claustrophobia of this underground city is never broken. I think some lines of dialog have been added ("Why did you that to me ? I was happy... -I wanted to touch you... so many times.").
Now the shell dweller who attacks THX is no more a kind of humanoid but a CGI beast.

Oh. The famous last shot - with the sun. Hum. Yeah. Shocked

Changed too. I think many of you won't like this. But a prefer prevent a bad surprise for you.

-Haskell Wexler is now credited as "Special thanks" !
-(CGI shot) We can see the tramway stop; left travelling; a double elevator and SEN sit behind them.
-The famous scene where SRT and THX are separated from SEN: it is no more a corridor but a vast place full of people.

And so on. Cheesy

I seen it again last saturday. The film was presented by George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola themselves.

What do you think a THX fan can feel by seeing the THX 1138 Director's Cut in a 1500 seats numeric screen ? Cool
