New CG conflicts with original film "look"

No one could have stopped GL from adding CG to the re-release, but at least supply us with the unaltered version as well.
In my opinion, the new CG conflicts horribly with the original "analog" look and feel of the 1970's tech. GL must still appreciate the old tech because he is prominently featuring it in the title. THX1138 and other title text is being shown in the 70's "wire display" format (not sure what the proper name is for this type of display). The ocilliscope of LUH's voice when she says "nevermind" to the medicine cabinet is another example. The punchcard violation report, the sound-activated video remote, all the CRT displays, the banks of mainframes and tape machines, all of this (and the great analog sound effects) are what makes the original version so striking and cool. All of this low-tech is going to look somewhat silly next to GL's super flat and clean CG effects. How will they rectify the original, clunky, "West World" style policemen with the new, slick bots being done in CG?
One could even argue that when they went underground their technology kind of "froze" at a particular level. It wouldn't make sense to have certain aspects of the technology (like super advanced bots) move forward while other aspects remained static.
Just my opinion, but if GL's other CG efforts are any guide, the new effects will suck and look really out of place.
Just ranting a little.

The added effects in the film are not major, like adding Jabba the Hutt. It's a few backgrounds to make the world appear much larger and oppressive. Plus, with the restoration of the film it doesn't appear to be 2004 effects in a 1970's environment. The types of CGI additions to the film should blend. The shot of the CGI chrome cops looked just like the cops in the original shots. He's not making things looks more futuristic, just a little bigger!

Why does everybody hate changes before they see them?!!!
As a fan of the film, I want to see the true vision of the film, not the incomplete version we have seen. It just took many years for Lucas to have the tools to finish the film as he wanted. Haven't you ever wanted to finish something left undone in your life?
I don't mind "improvements", unless he goes crazy with them and changes everything. But I can live with some new backgrounds and a few more extras walking around.

Hey, GL can do whatever he wants.
All my favorite films were shot under constraining conditions.
It gives a film heart.
We're talking about THX 1138 here.
It doesn't need to be improved.
I am a huge fan of Lucas' first three releases.
I want the option to have the original cut.
It was fine - to say the least.
You are right, though. Perhaps I will love what he does with it.
OK, I could rant forever about it but I wont go there.
So, what do we talk about now?

...When I first arrived here, I saw things as perhaps you do now.
Yes, I was confused about my predicament.
I longed to thrash out. To tear down. To destroy and annihilate. To... to ravage and wreak havoc and plunder.

I wasn't fighting.
I completely understand each persons preference. I was just expressing mine. Plus, I'd much rather have this new version on DVD than no version at all!
