Early THX influences?
« on: March 19, 2006, 09:11:59 am »

Check out this video and tell me that the producers weren't influenced by THX in some way.  Especially in the opening sequence.

Computer Networks: The Heralds of Resource Sharing

(Not only that but its fairly interesting, especially for us geeks!)

[EDIT 4/22] FOUND IT! URL FIXED.

Is there a problem with the Google video?  I could not load it.

Huh?! Embarrassed  How about that! It's apparently gone! Dunno when that happened, and apparently I didn't bother to save a copy (doh!)

I will keep looking.  Short version:  The intro of Electronic Labyrinth shared a lot with the intro of this video, at least it seemed that way to me....

I checked via google.com search.  It seems that everyone who had it on their page simply had a link to google video.

I would like to see it if someone knows where it is.

If it dissapears again, I have downloaded this movie (in GoogleVideo format).

I think it is very interesting for us Geeks, most of whom remember the days before the WWW, the days of the old dialup and telnet connections.

I found it again!

see if this works...

The intro particularly looks a lot like Electronic Labyrinth's  intro.  The music sucks on this one though! Smiley

Wow... at the time of this video the general public had no idea what this guys were talking about.
Now it's common everyday knowledge.... great video on history.

Sound track using the old Moog Synthesizer is a common example of the educational videos in the 60 = 70's era...
I use to have a educational video on the dangers of "Pot... the killer weed" by around 1969. It to used the Moog along with a time lapsed film of plants growing in a lab... very much like the kind of films George Lucus would have watched in college.
